Travel Medicine Services

Pre-Travel Consultations

A focused visit, ideally 4–8 weeks before your trip, to review your destination, your itinerary, and your health history. We discuss vaccines, medications, food and water safety, altitude, jet lag, and country-specific risks — and provide a written summary you can take with you.

Travel Vaccinations

Routine vaccines (flu, Tdap, MMR boosters, etc.) and travel-specific vaccines including hepatitis A & B, typhoid, polio boosters, meningococcal, and rabies pre-exposure. Yellow fever and other specialized vaccines are referred to certified yellow fever clinics.

Malaria Prevention

Prescription antimalarial medications appropriate to your destination, your trip length, and your health profile — with clear written instructions and a plan for what to do if you develop a fever after returning.

Travelers' Diarrhea Prevention & Self-Treatment Kits

Practical guidance, prescriptions for self-treatment when appropriate, and clear instructions for when to seek care abroad.

Returning-Traveler Evaluations

Evaluations for fever, GI symptoms, rashes, and other concerns common after international travel — and we know when to test, when to refer to infectious disease, and when to reassure.

Doctors Who Understand Health Across Borders

Travel medicine sits at the intersection of preventive care, infectious disease management, public health, and the practical realities of being away from your normal medical infrastructure. Our providers’ training in global health and her international background give her a perspective that goes beyond a standard CDC handout point. She understands what care looks like in different parts of the world, and what’s realistic to recommend for the trip you’re taking.

We see travelers of all kinds: families heading abroad for vacation, college students studying overseas, professionals traveling for work, people visiting relatives in their countries of origin, and adventurers planning long-haul trips. We tailor the visit to the trip, and to you.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I schedule my pre-travel visit?

Ideally 4–8 weeks before departure. Some vaccines need multiple doses spaced over weeks to be fully effective, and some medications need to be started before you arrive. That said — even a last-minute travel visit can offer real value, so call us regardless.

Yellow fever vaccine requires certification through a designated clinic. We don’t carry it ourselves, but we’ll let you know whether your destination requires it and refer you to a local certified provider for that specific vaccine while we handle the rest of your pre-travel care.

It depends on your plan. Routine vaccines and the consultation may be covered, while some destination-specific vaccines and prescription antimalarials may not be. We’ll be transparent about cost up front, and cash-pay is available for any portion not covered.
